Environment Making Challenge (22nd June - 3rd July)

This challenge was run by SERAS (Skills and Education in Robotics and Autonomous Systems) and the aim was to use the Internet of Things to produce an idea that would benefit the environment. I used the MakeCode editor in BBC micro:bit to write some code for a CO2/Greenhouse gas monitor. This would help users see how much of an impact their lifestyle choices have on the environment.


Here are some screenshots of the code (click on the picture to view gallery). The first slide shows the start, the next two slides show the function for calculating CO2 emissions released by cars per gallon of fuel used (depending on the type of fuel). The next four slides show the function that shows the kilograms of greenhouse gas emitted per kilogram of a food item produced.
